Import Data (add/delete with options) - ekmPowershop

The Import/Export system is an advanced ekmPowershop feature. It allows you to easily export large amounts of data out of your shop, such as products and orders. The Import allows you to edit all aspects of your products and categories by uploading a formatted Import file.

To access the Import/Export system please log into your ekmPowershop account and navigate to features section. Look down the list until you see the import / export feature. If you do not see the option, then you may need to install that feature. Click here to see how.

In this guide we have 2 parts. Part 1 is how to create a basic import file with product options that the ekmPowershop needs to import products. Part 2 is a guide to show you how to create a file to delete product options.

The import file can be used to add products / edit products or delete products from your online shop.

In the first part of this guide I’m just going to show you how to create a file to get product options added to your shop.

Important: You must have added the product onto the online shop first before doing an import. You can't create a file which has

Add product
Add product Option

It will always need to be

Edit Product
Add product Option

Important: There is no "Edit Product Option" action within the Import/Export system.

If you wish to change any variable in a product option, make the change in the import file and keep the action as "Add Product Option" The import file needs to have the following attributes to be sucussfully imported into your online store:

Action	CategoryPath
ID	Name
Price

Tip1: An easy way to get the format is create a product with its options using the online interface. Once done, export your product data and use the file as a template to add the rest.

Tip2: When you import a file ekmPowershop will automatically create a restore point before the file is imported so if anything goes wrong within the hour you can restore your shop to before the file was imported.
